Drives the implementation and compliance to Global Quality Standards and ensures technical governance requirements are identified and applied so as to manage risk and drive quality improvement. Supports European breweries including contract/third party on significant quality issues and their resolution and acts as UK key account. Provides expert technical knowledge, and supports the development of new business through approval of new processes and operations. Collaborates closely with other key stakeholders such as brewing, procurement, operations, innovation.
1 Complete and support quality & food safety audits of European breweries, contract producers and packers and distribution sites against standards and specifications. Develop annual audit plans and operational budget. Drive completion of corrective action plans. Identify key risks and work with local management on mitigation. Ensure all contract/third party brewing and packing operations operate to quality and food safety standards and specifications
2 Provide expertise knowledge on brewing and quality standards and keep up to date with global best practices and be able to communicate and influence brewing operations. Monitor the performance of brewing operations and contract packers/third party and provide support on continuous improvement and incident resolution. Monitor performance of 3rd party produced brands in trade and drive improvement.
3 Provide training support to operations for Quality, Food Safety and Brewing.
4 Collaborate with Innovation, Procurement and brewing. Ensure technical governance is applied to new products and packages and risk assessments completed. Provide audit support for suppliers.
BSc/Science Degree: Food Science or Engineering ISO 9000 Lead Auditor, HACCP Intermediate Certificate,
Preferred: Diploma Level Brewing Certification.
Skills and Relevant Work Experience
At least 5 years experience in brewing and/or operations. Thorough understanding of of brewing, packaging and distribution processes. At least 3 years experience in quality management. Extensive knowledge of ISO standards, Food Safety Standards ( BRC). Excellent at building relationships with internal and external stakeholders, able to collaborate and influence. Excellent oral and communication skills. Report writing.
5+ years brewing experience , extensive audit and problem solving experience, certified Quality Auditor accreditation.
