  • Supervise and independently facilitate handling of all employment-related matters, including internal investigations, agency charges, litigation, and arbitration on behalf of AB and its U.S. subsidiaries.
  • Work with outside counsel to defend employment lawsuits throughout the US.
  • Advise and counsel AB People Department and management on all employment-related matters, including hiring, pay practices, performance management, and leaves of absence.
  • Collaborate with AB People Department to ensure compliance with various Federal, State, and local employment laws in personnel policy creation and administration.
  • Some travel required

Job Qualifications

  • J.D. from accredited law school is required
  • Member of the Missouri Bar or willing to seek admission
  • Minimum of 5 years employment litigation and counseling experience in a law firm or corporate legal department
  • Arbitration and/or trial experience highly preferred
  • Highly skilled in providing client counseling on strategic employee relations initiatives and advising all levels of human resources on a broad array of employment matters
  • In-depth knowledge of laws and regulatory environment affecting employment matters
  • Experience in agency audits and investigations
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills
  • Strong negotiating skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently manage a substantial number of litigation and counseling matters on tight deadlines
  • Ability to bring a practical and creative approach to problem solving in a dynamic team environment
