Associate General Counsel

Supervise and independently facilitate handling of all employment-related matters, including internal investigations, agency charges, litigation, and arbitration on behalf of AB and its U.S. subsidiaries.
Work with outside counsel to defend employment lawsuits throughout the US.
Advise and counsel AB People Department and management on all employment-related matters, including hiring, pay practices, performance management, and leaves of absence.
Collaborate with AB People Department to ensure compliance with various Federal, State, and local employment laws in personnel policy creation and administration.
Some travel required
J.D. from accredited law school is required
Member of the Missouri Bar or willing to seek admission
Minimum of 5 years employment litigation and counseling experience in a law firm or corporate legal department
Arbitration and/or trial experience highly preferred
Highly skilled in providing client counseling on strategic employee relations initiatives and advising all levels of human resources on a broad array of employment matters
In-depth knowledge of laws and regulatory environment affecting employment matters
Experience in agency audits and investigations
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills
Strong negotiating skills.
Demonstrated ability to efficiently manage a substantial number of litigation and counseling matters on tight deadlines
Ability to bring a practical and creative approach to problem solving in a dynamic team environment
