Wicked Weed Brewing is growing our team. The Away Market Key Account Manager will be accountable for acquiring and maintaining fruitful relationships with off premise chains and companies relevant to the VA, MD, and PA market. The primary function of this role is to sell-in and influence organizational key retailer partners through communication and consistency. The Away Market Key Account Manager must be critically aware of industry best practices, regional competition, and craft beer strategies. This unique position will also have Wholesaler Management responsibilities in the VA/DC market.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Organizes and maintains relationships with on and off premise chain accounts in VA, MD/DC, PA, DE, MA, RI, and NY.
  • Key Off-Premise Retailers include, but are not limited to:Publix, Winn Dixie, Whole Foods, Total Wine, ABC, All C-Stores
  • Works with wholesalers to discern prudent approach for execution.
  • Build working relationships with local wholesaler and regional AB KAMs for the purpose of communicating, executing and bringing more focus to WWB programs.
  • Build working relationships with Key Account buyers and district managers.
  • Sell-in, execute and track WWB trade programs.
  • Partners with manager to align capacity with contractual obligations.
  • Utilizes data to analyze WWB performance in key accounts and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Hosts communication calls with wholesaler KAMs at an appropriate frequency, at least monthly.
  • Provides forecast to operations teams to ensure dependable supply of product.
  • Prepares sell-in decks for new products and new trade programs.
  • Holds monthly performance reviews with AB KAM teams and communicates strategic plans six-months in advance or more.
  • Provides feedback to supervisor(s) on strategic opportunities for assigned key accounts.
  • Provides monthly reports to supervisor(s) on account and programming performances.
  • Coordinates with Marketing Director to develop chain-specific marketing and advertising plans.
  • Educates and influences corporate decision-makers on product lines.
  • Contributes to overall key account strategy setting.
  • Coordinates with rest of Sales team to maximize territory efforts.
  • Track and analyze territory sales numbers to direct and guide personal activities and efforts.
  • Manage professional individual administrative duties/paperwork.
  • Sell-in, execute and grow relationships on-premise within his/her territory as defined by supervisor.
  • Attend and execute festivals/events within his/her territory as defined by supervisor.
  • Available to support other brewery reps within the Wicked Weed Family when requested by supervisor.
  • The ability to drive a motor vehicle to and from accounts continuously and maintain assigned vehicle.
  • Complete and submit weekly and monthly market visit recaps and reports, quarterly goals and expense reports.
  • Attend all sales team meetings, as requested.

Job Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and maintain effective working relationships with distributors, top level account decision makers, and all internal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision – self-motivated.
  • High level of craft beer product knowledge.
  • Excellent oral, analytical, written, and group presentation communication skills.
  • Strong organizational & planning skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of company products and industry best practices (beer and merchandise).
  • Self-motivator.
  • The ability to deal with difficult customers when necessary.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, customers, and third-party partners.
  • Intermediate to expert-level proficiency in office-related software.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Proficient in Excel, Powerpoint, Lilypad, VIP
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or any combination of education and industry experience selling in the craft beer market equal to five years.
  • Cicerone or beer education preferred.

    Work Environment:

  • The employee frequently must work in an environment with a moderate to high noise level.
  • Regular visits to bars, restaurants, and other retailers of Wicked Weed’s beer are required.
  • Travel is required.
