BERS Analytical LAB manager

  • Process owner for design, setup, and execution of the Technical Center (TC) Bio-Energy Recovery System (BERS) Lab
  • Oversee final funding, construction, setup, and operation of TC BERS LAB
  • Establish a routine sampling program for all US BERS units, for efficacy and activity testing monthly
  • Report findings, issues, KPI’s and recommendations to Zone Support for Utilities and Brewing / Quality teams
  • Capable of leading a team of scientists for process optimization, data generation, KPI reporting, and analytical support
  • Will work closely with Zone Innovations team, Global TD, ZBS Utilities, and ZBS Brewing leadership regarding new product development, trials, and implementation
  • Monitor impacts of water savings, TEL savings, chemical usage, and effluent flow optimization affects on BERS units.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for BERS lab operation
  • Align with key zone strategic initiatives
  • Work with Global partners for best practice sharing, information, and KPI results
  • Participate in the annual budget process associated with BERS operation support
  • Support ABIU training through mentoring of Brewing Curriculum courses

Job Qualifications

  • MS in Food Science, Life Science, or Engineering. (PhD preferred)
  • Advanced understanding of project execution and experimental process
  • Familiarity with engineering design, equipment specifications, and policy administration / is preferred.
  • Desire to be part of a dynamic Technical and Scientific leadership team within the North American Zone for Supply
  • Problem solving skills, results orientation, commitment to development. Strong customer focus.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels of the company - Operators to Zone President
  • High level of functional expertise in technical and analytical instrument operation, trouble shooting, technical and process guidance, and process support
  • Experience in leading a research, technical, analytical, or process team, with key KPI deliverables on a defined timeline
  • Capable of travel to support on site production operations, equipment and instrument start-up work, and process support work
  • Interest in the working with craft beer styles, innovation products, Co-Products, effluent and waste streams, process efficiencies/optimization, and cross functional support teams
  • Familiarity with Environmental testing, including but not limited to Bio-Reactor functions, efficiencies, gas production, and activity testing
  • Willing to execute laboratory setup, construction, and installation, including work with contractors, capex, and all associated crafts
